    Our humble story starts in 1999 when my wife and I opened a martial arts and fitness program at the New Orleans Joint Reserve Air Base (NASJRB). Our program, aimed at supporting military families, quickly outgrew our facilities and in 2001 we founded New Orleans Karate Institute, Inc., an off Base self-standing club that quickly grew into the largest single-site martial arts and fitness organization in Louisiana.
    Like most small businesses that are growing quickly we had our fair share of problems including the constant and never-ending cyber-attacks against our website (website hijacking) and email servers (email spoofing). After suffering several security breaches resulting  in our bank accounts being compromised, loss of customer data and reputational damage, we decided it was time to actively fight back!
    Starting in 2006, we made significant operational changes that drastically reduced the ability for the “bad guys” to attack our business. The “lessons learned” became the basis of our second business venture in 2010, a consulting firm created to help small business owners build cyber resiliency in an industry that was quickly evolving.
    Change is never ending. Today our company serves small and medium businesses, non-profits, cultural institutions and health care professionals. We focus on customized cyber-security solutions incorporating best practices as defined by the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA).
